The team at DasSchaffers is proud and delighted to have been classified as a “4-Star” hotel by DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg since February 2017. Superior means that we go considerably further in terms of the facilities and services we offer - as always, to provide the quality that we want to give our valued guests!

History

1976

Acquisition of the building

After the building had been acquired in 1976, the bedrooms and public spaces were completely renovated and refurbished.

1978

Extension to the breakfast room

Two years later, we started work on extending the breakfast room and the reception area.

1981/82

Addition of the spa facility

In 1981/82, the spa facility was added and showers/WCs were installed in all the rooms.

1991

Reconstruction of the reception area

In 1991, the reception area was rebuilt, four double rooms were extended and the restaurant was modernised.

2006

30th anniversary

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of this family-run business, the new paintwork on the façade and the return of son Daniel - accompanied since 2007 by his wife Michaela Schaffers - brought fresh impetus and inspiration to the former Hotel Wanfried! Daniel had been away for 16 years to extend his knowledge and expertise as a trained chef and gain international business experience.

2015/2016

Hotel extension

In October 2015, DasSchaffers in Bad Mergentheim increased in size by almost a third. The former Hotel Wanfried at Edelfinger Straße 7 opened for the new season with an additional 12 modern, welcoming rooms, all conveniently accessible by lift.

New image

In addition to the new name, it was also time for DasSchaffers to project a completely redesigned image. The new name and the logo that goes with it underscore the 40-year-old family tradition, true to the philosophy: “A hotel for well-being, a cuisine to savour and a wellness oasis to relax in”.

The Schaffers family and its warm, welcoming team do everything they can to ensure their guests enjoy an agreeable, unforgettable stay in the DasSchaffers wellness hotel.

Highlights of 2021

Extension of our sun terrace overlooking the Tauber and addition of a small patio
Installation of a Systemair ventilation system in our restaurant
Conversion of our TRUST BAR, another feature appreciated by our guests: The welcoming feeling of home
The e-bike riders among our guests now also have a separate cabinet in the hotel where they can recharge their bike batteries. This makes recharging even safer and, most importantly, it’s done outside of the room!
